The Perfect Couple star Jack Reynor has been cast in season two of the Apple TV+ series Presumed Innocent opposite Superman's Rachel Brosnahan.
US entertainment trade publication Deadline first reported Wicklow actor Reynor's casting in the acclaimed legal thriller series.
Season one of Presumed Innocent was based on the 1987 Scott Turow bestseller of the same name, which also became a 1990 film starring Harrison Ford.
Season two is based on author Jo Murray's debut novel, Dissection of a Murder, which is set to be published in 2026.
Rachel Brosnahan is also among the executive producers of season two of Presumed Innocent.
The synopsis for the Pan Macmillan book reads \"When Leila Reynolds is handed her first murder case, she's shocked at how high-profile it is: the murder of a well-respected, well-known judge. This shouldn't be the kind of case she's leading; it's way beyond her expertise. But the defendant, Jack Millman, is clear. He wants her, and only her.\"
The first season of Presumed Innocent, which starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga, was recently nominated for four Emmy Awards in the US: Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Gyllenhaal, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Peter Sarsgaard and Bill Camp, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Negga.
Reynor's upcoming projects include the Prime Video series Citadel, the John Carney film Power Ballad, and the Lee Cronin film The Mummy.
