Google AI Mode Enhancements: PDF Analysis, Canvas Project Planning, and Search Live with Video Input

Google is updating its AI Mode in Search with new features. These include PDF analysis, Canvas for project planning, and Search Live with video input. The updates are rolling out in the U.S. and India, with some features limited to users in Google's AI Mode Labs experiment.

Users can access AI Mode on Android phones, iPhones, and desktop. The new features aim to make research and information access easier for students, teachers, and everyday users.

PDF analysis feature: Users can now upload PDFs to AI Mode to ask questions about their content. The tool scans the PDF, pulls insights from the web, and provides linked sources for further exploration.

Canvas for project planning: This feature allows users to create and organize plans in a dynamic side panel. It helps users keep track of information across multiple sessions.

Search Live with video input: Users can point their camera at a live scene and ask questions in real time. This feature is powered by Google's Project Astra and integrated with Google Lens.

Lens integration with Chrome: Users can now ask Google about any content on their desktop screen using Chrome's address bar. AI Overview results will appear in a side panel.
