President Marcos highlighted the World Bank's role in the Philippines' infrastructure development and climate change preparedness. During the ceremonial turnover of the World Bank Group Philippines Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for Fiscal Years 2025-2031, Marcos emphasized the importance of the World Bank's support in various government programs.
He expressed gratitude for the financial assistance, technical expertise, and collaborative spirit provided by the World Bank. Marcos mentioned the upcoming launch of the World Bank Group’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for the Philippines for 2025 to 2031, which aligns with the government's commitments to healthcare, education, job creation, and disaster preparedness.
The CPF focuses on health and education, private sector jobs, and climate change to support the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028. Marcos highlighted efforts to improve public health services, address learning gaps, simplify business regulations, enhance infrastructure, and prepare for climate change impacts.
The CPF aims to guide the World Bank Group's engagement in the Philippines by tailoring support to address the country's most critical needs and priorities.
