Landlord Marc Godart Seeks Approval to Take Over Dublin Pub License
Landlord Marc Godart is seeking court approval to assume the license of a Dublin pub, with a tenant ready to take over. The application is pending the fire officer's consent from the city council. Legal issues have been faced by firms associated with Godart in the past.

Landlord Marc Godart is seeking to take over the licence of a Dublin pub and has a potential tenant lined up, pending approval from the city council's fire officer, a court revealed.
The Luxembourg businessman, now residing in Latvia, presented the application before Judge Máire Conneely at Dublin District Court. The case was adjourned for two weeks awaiting the fire officer's assessment.
In unrelated past cases at the District Court, companies associated with Godart have encountered legal challenges regarding property rentals in Dublin.
In the recent licensing matter, Godart applied for a licence transfer for Cleary's Pub on Sarsfield Road in Inchicore. The application was made by Inchicore Parkview Residence Limited, with Godart providing testimony as a director.
Godart's legal representative requested the judge to postpone the ruling as the fire officer had requested specific works to be completed and needed to submit a report. Negotiations had taken place with the fire officer, who inspected the premises and outlined necessary improvements.
Documentation, including the previous licensee's certificate, an advertisement, certificate of incorporation, and deed of transfer, was presented to the judge by Inchicore Parkview Residence Limited's barrister.
Godart confirmed that he had been in discussions with the fire officer and had hired a consultant to address the required modifications. He clarified that he did not intend to operate the pub but aimed to maintain the licence, as he had a potential tenant lined up who required a valid licence.
Judge Conneely acknowledged Godart's residency in Latvia and his intention not to reside in the pub. The application was deemed acceptable pending the fire officer's approval and report. The case is scheduled to resume on July 30th.
