Sony unveils the compact RX1R III camera with 61MP sensor after a decade

Sony has unveiled the RX1R III, a fixed-lens 35mm full-frame compact camera, ten years after the RX1R II. It features a 61MP Exmor R sensor and Sony's latest image processing technology for low noise and high dynamic range.

The RX1R III is smaller and lighter at 17 ounces compared to its competitors. It is designed for street photographers and serious amateurs.

The camera has a Zeiss Sonnar T 35mm f2 lens, macro ring, and 'Step Crop Shooting' function. It offers up to 15 stops of dynamic range and features an anti-reflection coating.

It has a 5 fps shooting speed, EVF with 2.36 million dots, and 0.7x magnification. The rear panel has 2 million dots of resolution. It lacks stabilization and tilting EVF.

The camera uses Bionz XR and AI processors for accurate tracking. It has 693 phase-detection AF points and can shoot 4K 30 fps video.

The RX1R III is priced at $5,100 and comes with accessories like a thumb grip, body case, and lens hood.
