Israeli fighter jets conducted airstrikes on key military positions of the Syrian regime in Damascus, including the General Staff Compound, as confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Wednesday. A video released by the IDF showed precise strikes targeting the compound, which is reportedly used by Syrian commanders to manage operations and troop deployments to As-Suwayda, a region central to the conflict involving the Druze minority.

Another strike targeted a military site near the Syrian Presidential Palace in Damascus. Syrian state media Al-Ekhbariya reported that two civilians were injured in what they termed an 'Israeli aggression.'

The IDF stated that the airstrikes were carried out in line with political directives amid growing concerns over attacks on Druze civilians in southern Syria. The IDF spokesperson mentioned that they are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared for various scenarios.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a direct warning to Damascus, urging the Syrian regime to withdraw and cease targeting the Druze community in Sweida. He emphasized that Israel stands in solidarity with the Druze in Syria.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar expressed similar concerns, labeling the Syrian government as 'an unelected regime that seized power by force.' He reiterated Israel's objective to maintain the current situation and prevent any threats from southern Syria.

Additionally, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the reinforcement of troops along the Syrian border, emphasizing Israel's stance of not tolerating any military threats in the southern region.
