Monojit ‘Mango’ Mishra, the main accused in the Kolkata law college rape case, told the police that his co-accused — Pramit Mukhopadhyay and Zaib Ahmed — had filmed the sexual assault incident to prevent the survivor from reporting the crime. The incident occurred on June 25 at South Calcutta Law College. Mishra and his accomplices fled the campus after the assault. Mishra, also known as 'Mango,' asked friends to monitor the police station to see if the survivor would report him. He was later arrested along with his associates. Mishra had been targeting the survivor since she joined college. The trio, along with a security guard, were arrested in connection with the incident. Mishra, a former student leader, has a history of criminal charges against him. He was removed from his position in 2021 due to misconduct complaints. Mishra's violent behavior on campus has been previously documented, including an incident in 2019 where he assaulted a woman. Police are investigating the accused's movements before the arrest to gather more information.
