Quantum Globe has admitted to engaging in an unfair trade practice and will stop posting fake reviews on Sgcarmart, according to CCCS. The company will set up a feedback channel for six months to report any fake reviews. Customers whose details were used in fake reviews posted between October 2024 and January will be notified and invited to report fake reviews. Quantum Globe will publish notices on Sgcarmart and other platforms to inform customers about the fake reviews and the feedback channel. Fake reviews on Sgcarmart will be removed within eight working days. Quantum Globe director Matthew Lim Jun Ho promised not to engage in unfair trade practices.
SGCM, the owner of Sgcarmart, is considering additional verification methods like SMS or email confirmation to improve review authenticity, as per CCCS. Loft Home Furnishing was warned for fake 5-star reviews last year. Consumers are advised to read reviews in-depth, check multiple websites for consistency, and be cautious of overly positive or generic reviews. Consumers can contact CASE to report unfair trade practices.
