The project aims to revitalize the area and contribute to the ongoing regeneration of Dublin's city center.

Dublin City Council has approved a nine-storey student accommodation block by British developer Summix on the former site of the Independent Newspapers HQ on Middle Abbey Street. The city council supports the restoration of the vacant protected structures for student accommodation.
The development includes 316 student bed spaces in 42 clusters, ranging from five to nine bed spaces. The project aims to revitalize the area and increase footfall in the north city center. The scheme will also involve the preservation of the original printing hall for cultural and community uses.
Summix advisor in Ireland, Steve Cassidy, expressed excitement over the Council's decision, highlighting the project's contribution to the regeneration of the area and alignment with the government's initiative to revitalize Dublin's city center.
The planning application follows Summix Capital's purchase of Independent House from Primark, with plans to repurpose the vacant building that has been closed for over two decades.
