Elderly Couple Found Dead in Cork Home to Have Joint Funeral
An elderly couple in their 80s, Michael (Noel) O’Sullivan and his wife Ann, were found dead in their Glounthaune home. Foul play has been ruled out. They will be laid to rest together after a joint requiem mass.

A devoted couple in their 80s, Michael (Noel) O’Sullivan and his wife Ann, were found dead near the stairs of their home in Glounthaune, Co Cork. Foul play has been ruled out, and a joint requiem mass will be held for them on Friday. The bodies were discovered by a relative and pronounced dead by a local GP. Postmortem examinations are pending.
Michael is survived by his sister Mary and deeply regretted by Sylvia, Maureen, and Yvonne. Ann is survived by her siblings Gerry and Jim, and deeply regretted by Julie, Aoife, Bríona, Órla, Fíona, Eolan, and Diarmaid. The couple will be missed by the Ryng and O'Sullivan families, neighbors, and friends.
The requiem mass will be at the Sacred Heart Church, Glounthaune, followed by burial at Joseph's Cemetery, Little Island. The Glounthaune Community Association and residents offer condolences, highlighting the couple's love and devotion to each other and the community.
Mr and Mrs O’Sullivan will lie in repose at Barry Bros Funeral Home, Hazelwood, Glanmire, Co Cork on Thursday from 5pm to 6pm.
