An out-of-sorts Daniel Wiffen qualified for the final of the 800m freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore. Wiffen, recovering from appendicitis, finished fifth in his heat with a time of 7:46.36. He progressed in eighth overall and will defend his title in the final on Wednesday.
In the 200m butterfly, Jack Cassin swam a personal best of 1:57.04 but missed out on the semi-finals. Irish swimmers Ellen Walshe, Danielle Hill, and Evan Bailey will compete on Wednesday in Singapore.
