Alan O'Sullivan Honors Late Brother Michael with Emotional Win at Galway
Alan O'Sullivan dedicated his victory at Galway to his late brother Michael, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Riding Filey Bay to success, O'Sullivan felt his brother's presence and expressed gratitude for the opportunity. The emotional win was a tribute to Michael's memory.

Alan O'Sullivan honored his late brother Michael by pointing towards the sky after Filey Bay (7/1) secured a poignant victory at Galway. The emotional win felt destined, with Michael tragically passing away in February. The day marked a special moment as his two Cheltenham winners triumphed within a short span at this year's Festival.
Using his brother's saddle with 'MOS' initials, O'Sullivan felt guided from above as he clinched the Connacht Hotel Handicap on Emmet Mullins's nine-year-old. Reflecting on the win, O'Sullivan expressed, 'He was looking down on me I think yeah. It's unbelievable, first ride in the race. I got a dream run and probably went the brave man's route but I thought it was what Mikey would have done. It's just brilliant.'
O'Sullivan utilized his 7lbs claim to secure a victory by nearly five lengths, thanking Mullins for the opportunity to claim a prestigious amateur prize. 'Emmet put his neck on the line to get me on this horse and I'll owe him one forever. To be given an opportunity like this, I'm so happy that I was able to repay them,' O'Sullivan shared.
