The Mac version will feature advanced graphics presets and support for AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution.

CD Projekt Red is preparing to release Cyberpunk 2077 on Apple devices. The game, set in the year 2077, will be accessible on the Mac App Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com.
Optimized for Apple silicon, the sci-fi RPG will be compatible with a range of Macs, from the earliest M1 machines to the latest M4 chip. However, models with only 8GB of unified memory, like entry-level M1 and M2 Macs, won't support the game. A minimum of 16GB of RAM is required for a smooth gaming experience.
According to Apple's 2024 reveal video for M4-powered MacBook Pros, the game is anticipated to be available for these machines in early 2026.
Specific performance details from Apple or CD Projekt Red are not yet available regarding how the game will perform on different Mac configurations. Users with an Apple XDR display or another HDR monitor can anticipate full HDR support. The Mac version will also incorporate spatial audio and head-tracking for AirPods users.
More powerful Apple silicon chips will fully enable advanced features like path tracing, a cinematic-grade ray tracing mode that enhances lighting, reflections, and ambient occlusion. Graphics presets optimized for various Apple silicon models have been introduced by CD Projekt Red to ensure a smoother gaming experience.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Mac will utilize AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) for upscaling and frame generation, enhancing performance even with demanding settings like path tracing enabled. Apple's MetalFX upscaling technology will also be accessible, and the game will be compatible with the Magic Mouse and Trackpad.
The Mac version will be the Ultimate Edition, including the base game, all post-launch updates, and the Phantom Liberty expansion, introducing a new district and storyline.
Previously, many Mac users used Apple's Proton-like Game Porting Toolkit to play Cyberpunk 2077, which translates Windows APIs and Intel x86 instructions to run on Apple silicon. However, the official release will be fully native to macOS and built on Apple's Metal graphics APIs, including Tile-Based Deferred Rendering (TBDR), resulting in improved performance and visual quality.
The game's Mac launch will coincide with the release of patch 2.3, bringing new vehicles, an enhanced photo mode, and various quality-of-life enhancements. Cross-progression will also be supported, allowing players to switch between platforms without losing their progress.
