World Bank's Role in Philippine Infrastructure and Climate Change Acknowledged by President Marcos

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. acknowledged the role of the World Bank in supporting Philippine infrastructure projects and addressing climate change. During the launch of the World Bank Group Philippines Country Partnership Framework (CPF) 2025-2031, Marcos expressed gratitude for the Bank's assistance in critical infrastructure development and climate change preparedness.

The CPF outlines a strategic path for the next six years, aligning with Marcos' commitments to improve healthcare access, support students, create more job opportunities, and enhance disaster preparedness through the construction of evacuation centers and early warning systems.

Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Secretary Arsenio Balisacan also praised the World Bank's support, emphasizing the CPF's alignment with the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028 and the country's long-term vision, the AmBisyon Natin 2040.

The CPF aims to advance human capital development, generate quality jobs, enhance climate resilience, and provide social protection to millions of beneficiaries. It will focus on health, education, competitiveness, agriculture modernization, digital infrastructure, and disaster risk financing to build a more resilient and inclusive Philippines.
