Vice President Sara Duterte mentioned that the Davao City house could be legally sold by former president Rodrigo Duterte's common-law partner Honeylet Avanceña. However, she raised the question of where her father would reside.
In an interview at The Hague, VP Sara responded to rumors about the potential sale of the Davao property at Doña Luisa Village, Barangay Matina. She explained that, as a lawyer, she believed the property was acquired during their time living together, making its status co-owned. Avanceña could sell her share but not the entire property, according to VP Sara.
Expressing her concern as a daughter, she pondered the living arrangements for PRRD if the house were sold. She mentioned that her brother, Representative Paolo Duterte, suggested that their father could stay at their mother's house, Elizabeth Zimmerman, to which their mother agreed.
VP Sara clarified that there was no reconciliation planned between their parents, only a desire for friendship. The Duterte patriarch was arrested in the Philippines on March 11 and is currently detained in The Hague for charges related to crimes against humanity.
