Taylor Fritz advances to Wimbledon semifinals after defeating Karen Khachanov
American tennis player Taylor Fritz secured his spot in the Wimbledon semifinals by overcoming Karen Khachanov in a thrilling match. This victory marks Fritz's first appearance in the Wimbledon semifinals, where he will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Cameron Norrie.

Taylor Fritz banished some old Wimbledon quarter-final demons by defeating Karen Khachanov to reach his first Wimbledon semi-final. Fritz won 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) in a two-hour, 36-minute match on No. 1 Court. This victory marked his first win in three meetings against Khachanov. Fritz will now face Carlos Alcaraz or Cameron Norrie in the semi-finals, his second Grand Slam semi-final appearance after last year's US Open final.
Fritz, currently ranked No. 5 in the PIF ATP Rankings, has accumulated 13 grass victories this season, leading the Tour in this category. His Wimbledon success has propelled him to within 15 points of No. 4 Jack Draper in the rankings. Fritz's performance has also elevated him to seventh in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin, positioning him for a spot in the Nitto ATP Finals.
After losing momentum in the third set, Fritz fought back in the fourth set to secure the win, avoiding a repeat of his earlier five-set battles in the tournament. Reflecting on the match, Fritz acknowledged his temporary loss of control in the third set but expressed satisfaction with his comeback and tie-break performance.
