Jurassic World Rebirth Exceeds Box Office Expectations
Jurassic World Rebirth has surpassed box office predictions, earning over $318m globally in its opening week. The film, featuring a new cast including Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, grossed $147m in the US and Canada and $171m in other regions. Despite mixed reviews, the movie's lower production budget of $180m enhances its profitability.

Jurassic World Rebirth has exceeded box office expectations in its opening week, generating over $318m in revenue worldwide. Initial projections had estimated around $260m. The film premiered over the Fourth of July weekend in North America, debuting in US cinemas on Wednesday 2 July to enhance opening-weekend numbers. It earned more than $147m in the US and Canada over five days and $171m in other parts of the world.
The results surpassed predictions; Universal had anticipated $100m-$120m in North America and double that overseas. Despite a new cast featuring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, producers were cautious due to the non-traditional moviegoing holiday. Critical reception has been mixed, with the Guardian's Peter Bradshaw giving it a four-star rating, praising its Spielberg homage and thrilling moments.
The film's potential profitability is boosted by its relatively modest production budget of $180m compared to its predecessors' $845m. However, its box office numbers fall short of previous Jurassic World films. Rebirth earned $91.5m over the weekend, notably less than Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, while the original Jurassic World made $208m in 2015.
