Alnatura to Close All Swiss Stores by End of 2025

Organic retailer Alnatura has announced that all 25 organic supermarkets under its banner in Switzerland will cease operations at the end of this year.

In February of this year, Swiss retailer Migros announced the decision to end its franchise partnership with the organic retailer.

Alnatura has been exploring alternative options for the stores since the announcement, but was unable to secure a new partner to continue operations under the franchise model.

Consequently, all Alnatura Bio Super Markets in Switzerland will close on 31 December 2025.

The store closure will affect around 260 employees, who will receive alternative employment offers from Migros Zurich.

Individual successor solutions are being explored for the store spaces, both within and outside the Migros group, the organic retailer added.

Alnatura and Migros will continue their strategic partnership, with the latter expanding the offering of Alnatura's product range.

The future focus of the collaboration will be on the Alnatura product range in Migros stores and on Migros Online, the retailer added.

Migros will continue to be the main distributor of Alnatura products in Switzerland, as it seeks to steadily expand the selection available in its stores.

The 25 stores include Alnatura Baden, Alnatura Basel Gerbergasse, Alnatura Basel Kirschgarten, Alnatura Bern Aarbergergasse, Alnatura Bern Bärenplatz, Alnatura Bern Scheibenstrasse, Alnatura Bülach Sonnenhof, Alnatura Lucerne, Alnatura Meilen, Alnatura Solothurn, Alnatura Stäfa, Alnatura St. Gallen, Alnatura Thalwil, Alnatura Uster, Alnatura Wädenswil, Alnatura Winterthur Grüze, and Alnatura Winterthur Neuwiesen.

Also included are Alnatura Zug Metalli, Alnatura Zurich Höngg, Alnatura Zurich Kreuzplatz, Alnatura Zurich Limmatplatz, Alnatura Zurich City Löwenstrasse, Alnatura Zurich Niederdorf, Alnatura Zurich Oerlikon Bauhof, and Alnatura Zurich Passage Sihlquai Hauptbahnhof.
