Tank at National Day Parade 2025 Hits Traffic Light Due to Technical Issue: MINDEF
A tank collided with a traffic light during a National Day Parade 2025 show in Singapore. The incident was caused by a technical problem that led to loss of steering and braking power. Safety checks will be conducted before the tank resumes participation in NDP 2025 activities.

The tank collision with a traffic light at a National Day Parade 2025 national education show was caused by an 'isolated component' leading to steering and braking power loss, as per initial investigation findings.
Further detailed examinations on the tank will be conducted as a precautionary measure, stated Colonel David Kwek, the chairman of the outreach and heartlands celebration group of the National Day Parade 2025 executive committee, on Tuesday (Jul 8).
On Saturday, the tank encountered a technical issue resulting in contact with a traffic light along North Bridge Road, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Footage of the incident was shared online by Facebook page SGRV, showing the tank colliding with the traffic light while making a right turn near Parliament House.
After reversing and pausing, the tank completed the turn, leaving the traffic light slightly askew. The traffic light was repaired by 4am on Sunday, as confirmed by the Land Transport Authority on Monday.
'The safety and well-being of the public and our crews are of paramount importance,' COL Kwek emphasized.
He mentioned that the tank, leading the mobile column segment, will rejoin NDP 2025 activities once all necessary safety checks and clearances are finalized.
