Born Terry Bollea, Hogan began his wrestling career in the mid-1970s. He gained immense popularity in 1984 after winning the heavyweight championship of the World Wrestling Federation by defeating the Iron Sheik.

According to the police, Hogan was attended to for cardiac arrest in Clearwater, Florida, before being pronounced deceased at the hospital.
