Over 120 People Stranded in Eastern Visayas Seaports Due to Tropical Depression Crising - PCG

A total of 122 passengers, drivers, and helpers were stranded in seaports in Eastern Visayas due to Tropical Depression Crising. The Philippine Coast Guard reported that Port of Maasin, Port of Benit, and Port of Padre Burgos were affected. Additionally, 60 rolling cargoes and three vessels were stranded, with two more vessels seeking shelter. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is raised in several areas.

A total of 122 passengers, drivers, and helpers were stranded in some seaports in Eastern Visayas due to Tropical Depression Crising, as reported by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Thursday.

The affected ports were Port of Maasin, Port of Benit, and Port of Padre Burgos. 60 rolling cargoes and three vessels were also stranded from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. Two more vessels sought shelter due to the bad weather.

According to the 5 a.m. bulletin from PAGASA, Crising maintained its strength while moving west northwestward over the sea east of the Bicol Region. It was located 535 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph, moving west northwestward at 15 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is raised over specific areas including Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, and Apayao.
