Man Utd Faces Hurdles in Deal for Bryan Mbeumo as Brentford Raises Asking Price

Manchester United are facing challenges in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo as Brentford has raised their asking price, creating a significant gap between the two clubs. The deal for the Bees forward, who scored 20 goals and provided nine assists last season, has been stalled despite United's efforts since June. Brentford rejected two offers, including one worth up to £62.5m, prompting them to demand £70m for Mbeumo.

The situation has become more complicated as INEOS, Brentford's owner, values the player at £65m, making an agreement unlikely. However, there is still hope for a deal as Mbeumo has expressed his desire to join United. With his contract expiring soon, Brentford may be compelled to sell him despite the valuation differences.

United's reluctance to pay inflated fees, considering their existing financial commitments, could hinder the deal. The gap in valuations remains substantial, raising doubts about the transfer. Talks are ongoing, but a resolution is not imminent.

Brentford's director of football has acknowledged the interest in Mbeumo and hinted at the possibility of him staying if the right deal is not reached. United is also exploring moves for Nicolas Jackson and a Wolves midfielder, while facing interest in one of their forwards.
