Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan Added to FBI Most Wanted List
Iran's ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has been added to the FBI's Most Wanted list for his alleged involvement in the 2007 disappearance of retired FBI agent Robert A. Levinson. Despite this, Pakistan has emphasized that Moghadam is highly respected for his role in promoting Pakistan-Iran relations. The case has now directly linked Islamabad to the incident.

Pakistan emphasized that Iran’s envoy in Islamabad, Reza Amiri Moghadam, is 'widely respected' after being added to the FBI's Most Wanted list for his alleged role in the 2007 disappearance of retired FBI agent Robert A. 'Bob' Levinson.
FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that Moghadam is respected for his role in promoting Pakistan-Iran relations and is entitled to all privileges as an ambassador from a friendly neighboring country.
Levinson went missing in Iran in 2007, with investigations revealing he was on a CIA spy mission unauthorized by the agency. Iran denies knowledge of his whereabouts.
The FBI linked three senior Iranian intelligence officials to Levinson's disappearance, including Moghadam, who reportedly oversaw operations in Europe.
Iran and the US have been in conflict, with the US imposing sanctions on Iranian individuals and companies involved in trading Iranian oil.
The FBI continues its investigation to identify more Iranian officials involved in Levinson's abduction.
