Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has emphasized resolving the issues of Dera Ismail Khan as a top priority, stating that the problems of the region are personal to him.
During a meeting with the Gomal Officers Association Peshawar, a delegation of retired officers from D.I. Khan, Governor Kundi expressed his deep connection to the people of Dera Ismail Khan, saying, \"My life and death are with the people of Dera Ismail Khan.\"
The delegation, led by former PDA Director Javed Iqbal Anjum, included prominent figures like Dr. Azam Farooq, Dr. Jaleel Anwar, Dr. Faheem, Habib-ur-Rehman Sandeela, and Mehbob Khalid Baloch.
Governor Kundi highlighted the issue of power load-shedding in the province, attributing it to low recovery rates in the region according to WAPDA officials. He mentioned the federal government's plan to base electricity supply and load-shedding on transformer-level recovery instead of feeder-level.
He also pointed out the high number of vacant positions in WAPDA, affecting service delivery, and urged the federal government to fill these vacancies promptly.
On healthcare development, Governor Kundi criticized provincial government interference in establishing a hospital on federal land and rejected an offer by Indus Hospital to build a facility in Peshawar. He announced plans to establish a branch of Edwardes College in DI. Khan and expand technical education.
Efforts are underway to sign an MoU with NAVTTC for providing technical training to the children of martyred police and army personnel.
The Governor addressed delays in the Chashma Lift Canal project and obstacles in the Section 4 process for the DI. Khan Airport, reaffirming his commitment to launching the international airport soon.
Regarding gas issues, Governor Kundi criticized the provincial administration for removing a newly installed TBS, causing a significant loss. He expressed concerns over deliberate halting of development projects in DI. Khan by the provincial government.
