Numerous fire engines are at the scene of a fire at the Dalton Mills site, on Dalton Lane. The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that 12 fire engines from across West Yorkshire were called to the scene of a fire in a derelict structure on Dalton Lane, Keighley, at 2.41pm today. A spokesperson for the WYFRS said: \"Crews responded to a fire involving a large derelict structure. Hazards on site included significant fire and smoke. No casualties reported and fire and police are in attendance.\" The WYFRS also reported that they were called to a separate fire at a nearby building. The spokesperson said: \"Crews were called to a separate fire affecting the roof void of a heritage building. Resources in attendance include 10 fire appliances (fire engines) from across the West Yorkshire region.\" Police have cordoned off and closed roads in the area and traffic has been turned away from the area. Local councillors have warned people to avoid the area. New images of flames engulfing the building and smoke billowing above the mill show the extent of the seriousness of the blaze. Police have also told the T&A that there is potential that the fire has spread to neighbouring properties. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: \"We can confirm there is a large fire. Roads are closed in the area and there is potential for it to have spread to neighbouring properties.\" Residents are also being warned to avoid the area. In a post on Facebook, councillors in Keighley East have said: \"We are aware of the awful ongoing blaze at Dalton Mills. The fire service is working hard to get it under control. Please avoid the area if you can.\" It in unknown at this stage what has caused the fire at this stage.
