Chaos at Gaza Aid Site Despite 'Women Only' Day
The GHF's food aid distribution in Gaza, supported by Israel and the US, has been marked by chaos and violence. Women faced pepper spray and stun grenades as they tried to access aid, leading to tragic consequences.

GHF's food aid distribution system has faced chaos and violence since its launch in May with Israeli and US backing. Huge crowds walk long distances into Israeli military zones to access aid, facing private security contractors and Israeli troops. Palestinian men take risks to secure food for their families.
With only four GHF distribution sites for Gaza's two million people, usually only two are open per day. In the southern Rafah area, sisters Mary and Khawla faced chaos at the aid point. Women were sprayed with pepper spray and stun grenades were used to control the crowd. Khawla got separated from Mary, who was later shot and killed.
