Amit Shah's Strong Criticism of Congress Over Terrorism Stance

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Congress party for its soft approach to terrorism by referring to the 2008 Batla House encounter. Shah highlighted the swift action taken by the armed forces under the BJP regime in dealing with terrorists. He also questioned the UPA government's response to terrorism.

Shah mentioned the Pahalgam attackers and emphasized that those who were hiding during the previous government's tenure are now being targeted and eliminated. He specifically pointed out Congress leader Salman Khurshid's emotional reaction to the Batla House terrorists, contrasting it with the lack of similar sentiments for martyrs.

The Batla House encounter took place in 2008 after a series of bomb blasts in Delhi claimed many lives. The Indian Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the attacks. The encounter led to the death of two terrorists and encounter specialist Mohan Chand Sharma.

Shah also challenged Rahul Gandhi to outline the UPA government's actions against terrorism. He highlighted a significant decrease in terror incidents and civilian deaths in Kashmir under the Modi government compared to the UPA era.
