Uddhav and Raj Thackeray to Reunite at Mega Rally in Mumbai After 20 Years

After two decades, cousins Raj and Uddhav Thackeray will reunite in Mumbai for a 'mega victory gathering' celebrating the Maharashtra government's rollback of the Hindi language policy in primary schools.

The reunion of Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray comes before the local body polls, indicating a potential new political alignment in the state.

NCP founder Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Harshavardhan Sapkal are expected to skip the rally, with Congress choosing to stay away due to concerns over its non-Marathi vote base.

The event will take place at the NSCI Dome in Worli and will include prominent personalities from various fields.

The Maharashtra government had initially made Hindi a compulsory third language for Classes 1 to 5, but under pressure, the policy was reviewed, and Hindi is no longer mandatory.

The government has officially scrapped the two resolutions on the three-language policy for schools.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the formation of a committee to decide the introduction of new languages in schools.
