The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is reviewing and adjusting the pricing of socialized housing projects nationwide to ensure fairness and affordability for Filipino families.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling stated that mass housing pricing was a key topic in recent discussions with stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of aligning government policies with the housing sector's needs.

Aliling highlighted the initiative's goal of maintaining fair price ceilings and policies that meet the needs of Filipino families while balancing affordability for homebuyers and sustainability for developers and partner agencies.

He stressed the importance of equity and ensuring no Filipino is left behind through responsive housing policies that consider both affordability and sustainability.

The pricing review is part of President Marcos' Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, which now includes horizontal housing developments and other modalities to better serve the Filipino people.

Discussions, led by Assistant Secretary Frank LLoyd Gonzaga on behalf of Aliling, also focused on aligning housing policies with the country's Sustainable Development Goals.

The Technical Working Group (TWG) consists of DHSUD officials and representatives from industry associations like SHDA, NREA, CREBA, and OSHDP, aiming to finalize recommendations by October 2025 for the revision of a key memorandum on price ceilings for socialized housing projects.

Previously, Aliling engaged with NGOs and private groups to gather insights on enhancing and expanding the government's housing program.
