Norqain Independence Skeleton Watch: New 40mm Compact Case Release
Norqain, a Swiss brand known for adventure-oriented watches, introduces a compact 40mm version of its popular Independence Skeleton model. The new models feature a sturdy design suitable for outdoor activities, with water resistance up to 100 meters. Powered by the calibre NB08S, these watches offer a modern and robust look with contrasting skeletonized components. Available in stainless steel or black DLC coating, the Independence Skeleton watches come with various strap options.

Norqain, the independent Swiss brand, is known for its contemporary, adventure-oriented watches. The popular Independence collection includes models like the Wild One in carbon fibre, the Skeleton Flyback Chrono with a proprietary calibre, and Norqain's first skeletonised watch. To keep up with market trends, Norqain has introduced a compact 40mm version of its Independence Skeleton in two case finishes.
Skeletonised movements are delicate, requiring secure anchoring in a rugged case. The Independence 21 model, released in 2021, was a limited edition with a 42mm black DLC-coated case and a robust Sellita SW200-1S automatic movement. In 2022, Norqain launched the Independence 22 Skeleton, featuring the same case size and movement but with a black flange, followed by a grey model in 2024.
The new 40mm Independence models are thicker but have a more compact lug-to-lug distance. The solid case is water-resistant to 100 meters, with a screw-down crown and sporty recessed areas on the case flanks. The brushed and polished finishes give a sporty yet elegant look.
The transparent mainplate of the new models reveals the anthracite bridges securing the movement, providing a contemporary and robust appearance. The dark grey chapter ring features Super-LumiNova indices, and the skeletonised hands are also lumed. The movement, calibre NB08S, is a COSC-certified chronometer with a 41-hour power reserve.
The steel model is available with a grey rubber strap for EUR 3,950 or a steel bracelet for EUR 4,200. The black DLC version comes with a khaki or black rubber strap and retails for EUR 4,160. More details on Norqain's website.
