Two Arrested for Attempted Murder in Walsall Stabbing Incident

A 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Walsall. West Midlands Police were called to Stafford Street at around 8.30am today, Wednesday, July 2, where they found a male who had been repeatedly knifed. His injuries were not said to be life-threatening and he was taken to hospital.

A 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Officers appealed to anyone with dashcam or mobile footage to contact them.

Walsall Police said: \"We’re appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Walsall. We were called to Stafford Street at around 8.30am after a man received a number of stab injuries. He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening. We quickly arrested a 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in custody as we continue with our enquiries.\"

Det Sgt Jason Fowler said: \"We would like to speak to witnesses especially people who have mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident. Anyone with any information should call us on 101 quoting log number 1144 of July 2. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.\"

\"We will have extra officers in the area today and over the coming days to offer reassurance to the community.\"
