Astronomers have discovered a rare interstellar object named A11pl3Z passing through the Solar System, marking only the third such visitor from beyond our stellar neighborhood. The European Space Agency (ESA) confirmed A11pl3Z's interstellar origin based on its unusual trajectory and velocity. The object was first spotted by NASA's ATLAS system, with observations from astronomers worldwide pouring in. ESA's 'Planetary Defenders' are monitoring A11pl3Z using a global telescope network.

A11pl3Z's orbit is hyperbolic, indicating it is not gravitationally bound to the Sun and will return to interstellar space. It is currently near Jupiter's orbit and will approach the Sun in October, coming within 1.35 astronomical units. A11pl3Z poses no threat to Earth but will pass close to Mars, allowing unique observations. Measuring about 20 kilometers in diameter, it lacks cometary activity, unlike Comet Borisov. Its brightness is challenging but observable with large telescopes.

If confirmed, A11pl3Z will be the third interstellar object in our Solar System after 'Oumuamua and Comet Borisov. Astronomers aim to gather data to understand material from other star systems. The Minor Planet Centre is expected to confirm its interstellar status soon.
