Sean 'Diddy' Combs to Stay in Jail Temporarily
A judge has decided that Sean 'Diddy' Combs will remain in jail for now after being acquitted of serious charges but found guilty of lesser offenses. The trial focused on allegations of Combs forcing former girlfriends into sexual performances. Despite the jury's acquittal on major charges, Combs still faces up to ten years in prison on prostitution counts.

A judge has ruled that Sean 'Diddy' Combs will remain in jail for now, after being cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but found guilty of lesser prostitution-related offences. US District Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the defence's request for bail, stating that there was ample evidence of violent acts committed by Combs during the trial. The trial focused on allegations that Combs forced two former girlfriends to partake in drug-fuelled sexual performances with male sex workers. Both women testified that he beat them and threatened to withhold financial support or leak explicit images of them.
Combs faces up to ten years in prison on each of the two prostitution counts. The jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking. Defence lawyer Marc Agnifilo called it a victory for Combs and the jury system. Prosecutors argued that Combs should remain in jail as he posed a danger, citing a past assault on one of the witnesses while under investigation. The judge suggested a sentencing date of 3 October.
The jury's acquittal on the most serious charges indicated a failure to directly link Combs' actions to sex trafficking. Prosecutors expressed the need to combat sex crimes in society. Combs still faces civil lawsuits for abuse, including a settlement with one of the former girlfriends. Combs denies all allegations.
