Liverpool's 30 James Street Hotel Reopens with New Name
Liverpool's well-known 30 James Street Hotel, previously facing financial troubles, has reopened under new management and a new name - the White Star Hotel. The historic building, once headquarters of the White Star Line, is being restored with a phased reopening starting in June.

The troubled 30 James Street Hotel in Liverpool has reopened under new management and a new name. The hotel, located in the Grade II* Albion House building, had faced financial problems and had to close its doors earlier this year. Formerly owned by Signature Living, the hotel was bought by RIMC Hotels and Resorts in May 2023 but faced challenges in its redevelopment plans. After being sold to Guess Capital Invest B.V, the hotel has now reopened as the White Star Hotel under new management led by local entrepreneurs Brian Gamble and Chris Carline.
The new owners are committed to restoring the building's legacy and have already begun a phased reopening, starting on June 20. The hotel aims to bring back the grandeur of Albion House and establish the White Star Line Hotel as a hospitality brand. The reopening includes select guest rooms, a rooftop bar named \"The Quarter Deck,\" and the Grand Hall for weddings and events. The restoration project will gradually bring all rooms and the spa back into full operation.
This long-term project is focused on providing a solid guest experience, building the brand, and inviting guests to be part of the journey to restore White Star and Albion House to their former glory.
