Paul Simon, 83, Cancels Concerts Due to Chronic Back Pain

Paul Simon, a touring musician since the 1960s, had to cancel two shows in Philadelphia due to chronic back pain. The cancellation was announced just hours before the scheduled performances at the Academy of Music. A statement shared on Instagram explained that the pain became unmanageable and required immediate attention. A minor surgical procedure is planned, and there is hope that Simon will be able to resume the tour. Refunds are available for ticket holders.

Simon, 83, had retired from touring in 2018 due to hearing loss but returned with the A Quiet Celebration Tour. The tour includes intimate venues and is set to continue across various cities before concluding in August. Born in 1941, Simon faced challenges growing up but found his passion for music early on. His musical journey with Art Garfunkel led to great success despite their eventual split.
