Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honoured with the title of 'Dharma Chakravarti' on the centenary celebrations of Jain spiritual leader Vidyanand at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The title signifies a righteous ruler and upholder of dharma. PM Modi expressed humility in accepting the award, stating that he dedicates it to the nation.

The event, organized by the Union Ministry of Culture and the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust, marks the beginning of a year-long tribute to the revered saint and scholar. PM Modi praised Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj's contributions and spiritual legacy, calling him a 'Yug Purush' and 'Yug Drashta'.

Born in 1925, Vidyanand was known for his vast knowledge of Jain scriptures, authoring influential works, promoting spiritual egalitarianism, and identifying important Jain heritage sites. The centenary celebrations will continue until April 22, 2026, with various cultural, educational, and spiritual programs planned nationwide.

PM Modi's visit to the exhibition showcasing the life and legacy of Acharya Vidyanand highlighted the saint's significant impact on Jain culture and spirituality.
