Philippine House to Support More Healthcare Clinics for War Veterans

The House of Representatives in the Philippines will allocate funding for more Veterans Access to Lifetime Optimized Healthcare (Valor) Clinics to support war veterans, as stated by Speaker Martin Romualdez. Romualdez emphasized the importance of providing healthcare services, treatments, and medicines to veterans in recognition of their contributions to the nation.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently launched a Valor Clinic pilot site at Basilio Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas. The clinic, under the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, aims to address the healthcare needs of underserved veterans, retired soldiers, and their families.

Romualdez highlighted the plan to establish more Valor Clinics in underserved areas to cater to over 400,000 veterans and their dependents. The Valor Program will roll out in three phases, aiming to establish 15 clinics nationwide by 2028 in various strategic locations.

These clinics will be operated by medical teams connected to the VMMC through telehealth, offering a range of medical services such as immunizations, diagnostic tests, consultations, and chronic care management.
