Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has criticized actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film Sardaar Ji 3. Abhijeet used an old concert clip to highlight his disagreement with Diljit. The backlash against the film led to its decision to release overseas instead of in India.

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya criticized actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh by using an old concert clip where Diljit recited a line from a poem by Rahat Indori. Abhijeet responded by saying, 'Hindustan hamare baap ka hai... Hindustan hamare baap ke baap ke baap ke purvajo ka hai.' This reaction came amidst the controversy surrounding Diljit's latest Punjabi film 'Sardaar Ji 3,' which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
The video clip used by Abhijeet is not recent, but his sudden response seems to be related to the criticism against 'Sardaar Ji 3.' The film faced backlash for casting a Pakistani actress, leading to a decision to release it overseas instead of in India.
Diljit had originally recited the Rahat Indori verse during a concert in Indore, where he indirectly addressed protests by Bajrang Dal. Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who has worked with Diljit, defended him by highlighting his love for the country and authenticity.
