An Air India flight from Mumbai to Chennai made an emergency landing in Mumbai on Friday due to a burning smell in the cockpit. The flight landed safely back in Mumbai, and an aircraft change was initiated, according to Air India officials. Earlier, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Jammu had to return to Delhi mid-flight due to a technical issue. An alternative aircraft was arranged for the Delhi-Jammu route. These incidents follow the crash of Air India-171 in Ahmedabad on June 12.
