A skydiving plane with 15 people onboard went off the end of a runway at a New Jersey airport. The Cessna 208B crashed into the woods at Cross Keys Airport around 5:30 p.m. local time. The crash was described as a 'mass casualty incident' by authorities.
At least 15 people are being evaluated or treated at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Three are in the trauma unit, eight with less severe injuries are in the emergency department, and four with minor injuries are awaiting further evaluation.
Helicopter video showed multiple stretchers being wheeled out of the woods to medical evacuation helicopters. Flight tracking data indicated the plane was dropping rapidly before the tracking data ceased.
The aircraft belonged to a Virginia company and was involved in a 2023 incident where the nose gear collapsed during landing. It's not clear who was flying the plane in New Jersey.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident. CNN's Danya Gainor contributed to this report.
