Cash, drugs, a machete and two suspected illegal dog breeds were seized during a raid at a house in Toxteth. Officers from Merseyside Police's local policing team carried out the law enforcement operation at an address on Friday, July 11.
Large quantities of cannabis, a significant amount of money along with drugs paraphernalia and a machete were found inside the property.
Two dogs, suspected to be banned breeds – an XL Bully and American Pitbull – were also seized and will be assessed to determine the breed.
A 34-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman from Toxteth were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled class B drug (cannabis), and conspire to acquire/use/possess criminal property. They have both been released under investigation, police said.
Sergeant Annie Bhullar said: 'These two arrests were part of our proactive work to ensure we take offenders supplying drugs off our streets. Drug dealing is a blight on our community, causes misery to families and often involves the exploitation of children. We are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious and organised criminality in Merseyside. Our work to bring these people to justice will continue on a daily basis and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so action can be taken.'
