Gallup Survey: Maryam Nawaz's Governance Preferred Over Gandapur's in KP

A recent Gallup Pakistan survey has revealed deep public dissatisfaction with the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. 50 percent of respondents rated Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s governance better than that of KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, including 37 percent of PTI’s own voters.

The survey was conducted between February and March 2025 with face-to-face interviews of 3,000 individuals. The findings indicate rising frustration in KP over governance, economy, and basic services, with declining popularity of CM Gandapur.

Key findings include lack of access to healthcare, gas, and reliable power supply. Youth face challenges with no parks, libraries, or community centers. Development progress has slowed since 2024, with concerns over corruption and lack of significant improvements.

Support for transparent investigations into mega projects, concerns over unemployment, and dissatisfaction with job allocation based on connections were highlighted. Security and judiciary issues, along with public opinion on social media bans and Afghan refugee repatriation, were also covered.

PTI and PML-N reactions to the survey results were included, with differing perspectives on the findings and implications for KP’s governance.
