Update: Charges Filed in Fatal Car Crash in Hamilton

Update: Charges Filed in Fatal Car Crash in Hamilton

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, shortly after midnight, Hamilton Police responded to a three-vehicle collision on Upper Centennial Parkway between Mud Street East and Green Mountain Road.

A 2014 Ford F-150 and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado were both travelling southbound on Upper Centennial Parkway when the F-150 collided with the Silverado. The F-150 then crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a 2015 Kia Sorento head-on.

Tragically, the driver and passenger of the Kia Sorento were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford F-150 sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver of the Silverado was not injured.

Due to the severity of the collision, the Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was called to investigate.

As a result of the investigation, on July 24, 2025, police arrested and charged Nemanja TRIVANOVIC, a 32-year-old man from Hamilton, with the following offences:

Criminal Code Charges:
- Dangerous Operation Causing Death ×2 – Sec. 320.13(3)
- Impaired Operation Causing Death ×2 – Sec. 320.14(3)
- Over 80 Causing Death ×2 – Sec. 320.14(1)(b)

Highway Traffic Act Charges:
- Stunt Driving – Sec. 172(1)
- Speeding – 140 km/h in a 70 km/h zone – Sec. 128
- Defective Brakes – Sec. 64(7)
- Operate Unsafe Motor Vehicle – Sec. 84

The families of the victims and others involved have requested privacy as they grieve and process this tragic incident.
