N Jagadeesan Receives Maiden National Call-Up After Rishabh Pant's Injury
Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan has been called up to join the Indian squad in England after Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan were ruled out due to injuries. The 29-year-old, known for his consistent performances in domestic cricket, now awaits his visa to join the team at the earliest.

With Rishabh Pant ruled out of the fifth Test against England and Ishan Kishan nursing an injury, Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan has received his maiden national call-up. The 29-year-old was asked to join the squad in England and is awaiting the necessary visa to join the team soon.
After Pant's injury, Ishan was considered as a replacement, but he too is injured and unable to recover in time. KS Bharat was another option, but selectors opted for Jagadeesan due to his consistent performances. In 52 first-class matches, Jagadeesan has scored 10 centuries and 14 fifties at an average of 47.50.
Jagadeesan, primarily an opener, has been a standout performer for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy. Apart from his batting skills, he is also known for his wicketkeeping abilities. BCCI confirmed that Pant will not keep wickets in the remaining matches, with Dhruv Jurel taking over the role.
It is likely that Jurel will be the wicketkeeper for the final Test at The Oval in London. Pant, despite his injury, will be available to bat as needed by the team.
