Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Joseph McEvoy in West Dublin

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Joseph McEvoy in west Dublin. McEvoy, also in his 30s, was attacked at a house in Shancastle Close. Emergency services found him unresponsive and he later passed away in the hospital. Gardaí are seeking witnesses to the incident.

Man Charged in Fatal Stabbing of Joseph McEvoy in West Dublin

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of Joseph McEvoy in west Dublin early yesterday morning. He is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this afternoon. McEvoy, also in his 30s, was attacked at a house in the Shancastle Close area of west Dublin. Emergency service workers found him unresponsive and he was later pronounced deceased at John Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.

Joseph ‘Joey’ McEvoy was the captain of Clondalkin’s Quarryvale FC. The club expressed their devastation at the loss, describing McEvoy as a kind man and a fierce competitor on the field. Gardaí are urging witnesses or individuals with relevant information to contact Lucan Garda station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any Garda station.

The Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted. A Senior Investigating Officer is leading the investigation, with an incident room set up at Lucan Garda Station. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the deceased's family.
