The man was arrested by police for a viral video where he criticized the provincial administration during heavy rainfall in Lahore. He expressed regret for his actions and apologized to the Government of Pakistan.
Heavy rainfall in Lahore caused disruption and submerged low-lying areas. A boy was electrocuted in rainwater, and Nishtar Town recorded the heaviest rainfall with 182mm. Water entered homes in various areas, leaving vehicles and motorcycles stranded. The Pakistan Meteorological Department warned of continued monsoon rains until July 13. The death toll from monsoon rains and floods has reached 104.
