Ms Gisele Pelicot, known for her bravery in testifying against her former husband for mass rapes, and musician Pharrell Williams were honored with France's top civic honour on July 13. They were both named knights of the Legion of Honour ahead of France's national day on July 14.
Ms Pelicot, 72, gained global recognition for her testimony in a French trial in 2024 where she revealed the harrowing ordeal she endured. Her case led to changes in France's rape laws. She is currently working on a book about her experience set to be released in 2026.
Pharrell Williams, 52, known for his music career and fashion design, has been the creative director for Louis Vuitton men since 2023. His recent Paris show attracted various international celebrities.
