Congress Leader Muraleedharan Criticizes Tharoor's Stance on National Security

Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan on Sunday criticized fellow party MP Shashi Tharoor, stating that Tharoor will not be invited to any Congress events in Thiruvananthapuram until he changes his stance on national security issues. Muraleedharan, a key figure in the Kerala Congress unit, mentioned the possibility of disciplinary action from the party's national leadership.

Tharoor recently defended his position on national security at an event in Kochi, emphasizing that he prioritizes the nation over party interests. Despite facing criticism from within the party for supporting the armed forces and the central government on security matters, Tharoor reiterated his commitment to his beliefs.

This public disagreement is not the first between Muraleedharan and Tharoor. Earlier, Muraleedharan had questioned Tharoor's allegiance to the party, especially after Tharoor's comments on the Pahalgam terror attack and an article criticizing former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's actions during the Emergency.

The rift between Tharoor and the Congress has been escalating, with Muraleedharan urging Tharoor to make a definitive political choice if he feels constrained within the party.
