Bukit Panjang LRT Resumes Service After Power Fault Disruption
Train service on the Bukit Panjang LRT line in Singapore resumed after a power fault caused a disruption affecting all 13 stations. Passengers were safely guided off stalled trains by SMRT staff. Engineers resolved the issue, and normal operations have resumed.

Train service on the Bukit Panjang LRT (BPLRT) line resumed on July 19, nearly two hours after a power fault impacted the entire 13-station line. Transport operator SMRT reported that four trains had stopped between stations due to the power fault around 2.45pm. Passengers were safely guided to the nearest stations by SMRT staff. Announcements were made to keep commuters informed.
SMRT Trains president Lam Sheau Kai apologized for the disruption and mentioned that engineers were on-site to address the issue. Trains were initially moving slower towards Choa Chu Kang LRT station on Service A. Free regular or bridging buses were provided outside the stations as train services were unavailable due to the power fault.
After about two hours, train services resumed normal operations, and the free bus services were no longer needed. Commuters shared their experiences of being stuck on the trains, with one passenger mentioning the heat and another appreciating the calm response of fellow passengers and the assistance from engineers.
