Discover How Better Breathing Can Improve Sleep, Focus, and Mood at Northumberland PACE Talk

The Northumberland PACE Speakers Series is inviting community members to breathe deeply and learn how breathwork can support better health during its next virtual talk, Breathe Better, Live Better, on Tuesday, July 23 at 5:30 p.m.

Organisers say this session marks a temporary shift from the usual Thursday time slot. The event will be hosted virtually via Zoom and features guest speakers Dr. Anuja Sharma and breathwork expert Randi Stone. Northumberland Hills Hospital President and CEO Susan Walsh will serve as moderator.

Dr. Sharma, an Internal Medicine specialist with IMCare, has been practising since 1996 with a special interest in wellness and chronic health conditions. Stone, a Buteyko-certified breathwork facilitator and registered massage therapist, uses breathwork to help people manage stress, improve energy, and reconnect with their bodies.

The talk will explore how simple, natural breathing techniques can help improve sleep quality, boost mood, and enhance focus – all without medication or gadgets. Participants will learn practical strategies for using breath as a tool for resilience and calm.

Audience questions are welcomed and can be submitted in advance or during the session, time permitting. Each PACE Talk includes a 30-minute presentation, a 20-minute Q&A, and a brief summary to close.

Since 2018, the Northumberland PACE (Personalized Assessment and Change Education) series has offered free monthly talks on health and wellness. Partners include Northumberland Hills Hospital, the Community Health Centres of Northumberland, IMCare, and others.

Pre-registration is free and required at www.pacetalks.com. Space is limited to the first 300 participants.
